Thomas Cruise Mapother IV, better known as Tom Cruise, is an American actor and producer who has become one of the highest-paid actors in the world. He has received several awards, including an honorary Palme d'Or and three Golden Globes. Cruise was born on July 3, 1962 in Syracuse, New York, the son of Mary and Thomas Mapother. Cruise's father passed away from cancer in 1984, and it is rumored that Cruise considered entering the priesthood.
However, he dedicated himself to education for a year instead. He also had a stepfather who had a big influence on him during his teenage years. When Cruise's daughter Isabella arrived, he and his wife discussed having children from time to time. They decided that it was the right time to have a child in their life.

He did his own skydive along with Henry Cavill's double stunts, hung on a rope tied to a flying helicopter and piloting a helicopter for an airborne chase scene. He earned his certification in six weeks, which normally takes three months. Cruise also has his own personal training space which he calls the Cave of Pain.
